Thanks for your comments Sanisha and Phillipe. Sanisha, you're right that there were some potentially interesting aspects of their lives that would have been nice to see in the film. However there is a lot more material out there on the Lost Boys (I think there are other documentaries too) - the official web site may be a good place to start. It's exciting that you got to meet some of them, Phillipe. As I watched, I was thinking how nice it would be to attend one of their conferences...perhaps one day, in disguise :).

This is such a great post. I had the good fortune of meeting some of these young men in the Boston area. Their spirituality and love for one another and for those of us who met them has been burned into my brain. If I had an ounce of the qualities that seemed so natural to them, I would be quite a human being.

I am very interested in the role that education played in their attitudes about life and reactions towards life in America.I don't think that the movie really explored their thoughts on spirituality, and their idea of God or that God could "grow tired of them".I felt that the movie just showed us a glimpse of what amazing spirits they have. The comment about Santa Claus was more about them wanting to know more about the truth behind certain practises, and in doing so, they expose some of the things that are associated with religion in the West.Basically, I think that it was more a desperate and childlike innocence that made them ask those fundamental questions which we may think of as 'deep'.
