guilt is an unfortunate necessity for human interaction. From the time that Cain refused to aknowledge what he had done we also see that humans seek to escape responsibility, which could be another word for guilt. There remains the unknown guilt, ie. Oedipus killed a stranger who insulted him and married an older woman. So far their was no feeling of guilt or remorse. How could he become guilty after the facts had been revealed?

The real question with which I seek to discover is, How can we maintain a healthy guilt feeling and free ourselves and communities from factions that impose control through attaching to our legitimate, but internalized feelings of guilt?
